Deepen your understanding of Pilates, building strength, mobility, and control in new ways
Practising across different pieces of Pilates equipment helps both new and experienced movers deepen their understanding of Pilates, building strength, mobility, and control in new ways.
But very few studios in the UK offer this full experience, so our Equipment Studio Classes give you the opportunity to work with the complete range of apparatus created by Joseph Pilates, the founder of the method.

To ensure you’re fully supported, you’ll be part of a small group of no more than 7 people, led by one of our expert teachers.
Our Level 1 Equipment Studio classes run in 6-week arcs, designed to help you master movement through week-by-week repetition and progressive layering.
You can join an arc at any point, and over time you’ll start to recognise exercises and feel your practice evolve.
A structured, supportive environment where beginners can develop strong foundations and experienced movers can refine fundamentals.
In this small-group class (maximum of 7 clients), you’ll be introduced to the full range of apparatus: Reformer, Trapeze Table, Chair, Ladder Barrel and Mat, learning how each one works with your body to build strength, alignment and control.
Expect progressive layering and expert guidance that helps you deepen your Pilates practice, feel progress, and explore the full apparatus experience at your own pace.
To join this class, you need to have completed at least one 1:1 session or ten Reformer classes beforehand (unless you’ve already tried Equipment classes or privates with us or at another studio).
Now that you’ve built the foundations from around 20 or more Level 1 classes, this class weaves them together into a more connected, full-body experience.
You’ll explore how each piece of equipment challenges your body in different ways: building strength, mobility, and mind-body connection.
This is where the Pilates system starts to feel like one complete method: breath, core, strength, and control working together to create balanced, functional movement that supports you beyond the studio.
With time, you’ll be ready for our most advanced class, designed to take you beyond technique and into mastery – our true Pilates Playground.
You’ll move fluidly between the Reformer, Trapeze Table, Chair, Ladder Barrel, Standing Springs and Mat, using the full system in creative, challenging, and deeply rewarding ways.
This is where Pilates becomes incredibly fun, and where all the preparation from earlier classes pays off as you experience the Pilates system at its most dynamic, expressive, and empowering.
The best way to know when you’re ready to join this class is to speak with your teacher. They are in the best position to assess your level and guide you.
Love Eliza’s mat class – the level two is intense but she uses all props to make it fun and supportive do you don’t realise how hard you are working – it’s a perfect combination of traditional Pilates moves delivered with confidence and knowledge.
‘Mat’ came before reformer and it’s a great full body movement class which gives every bit of your body some attention and leaves you feeling well balanced and stretched.
I do 2 classes a week at Soul Pilates. The teachers bring their own personal styles which keeps classes fresh but what is consistent in the Soul approach is the emphasis on finding your own ease of movement whilst offering safe challenges.
As a 64 year old woman I feel that I can lead an active life with confidence. A recent improvement I’ve noticed is that I seem to be hitting my golf shots further. I think I have more rotation and flexibility.
And the office staff are always helpful too.
I’m loving my return to Reformer pilates. The studio is a great place to focus and the teachers are brilliant. I have osteoporosis and a hip replacement (and I’m old) and their attention to individuals in the group is fantastic.
I first posted this review two years ago and it is still just as true. I am stronger now than when I started and my posture is better than it has ever been.
Restarted Pilates as I am aware that, as a 40+ woman with a back injury that I need to manage, I need to keep working on my core strength.
I have now attended 200+ classes at Soul and haven’t had any issues with my back. I feel stronger, more confident in my back and really enjoy how varied the classes are, even with the same instructors.
It has also been great for my mental wellbeing, which has been an added bonus.
Would thoroughly recommend!

This is a more literal description of what Equipment Studio Pilates is, for someone who is a complete newbie and potentially deciding between Equipment Studio Pilates and another wellbeing activity like Barre or PT sessions.
It could talk about the equipment, what happens in a typical class, and a general who it’s good for. This is mainly here for SEO, but we still want it to be useful to potential beginners.
